Decorative Plaster and Mouldmaking

Taught by: Emmett O'Carroll

Workshop Fee: $280.00

Learn the step by step processes used to design and create a decorative plaster piece. We’ll talk about the history of this wonderful art form that has influenced architecture and design since the pyramids of Egypt and before. In this hands-on workshop, students will mix, pour, run, shape and create using plaster. Students will participate in a shared experience, learning the basics of decorative plaster work. We will run up a plaster cornice together, create a large ceiling center-piece and create a mould of our work so our piece can be replicated again and again.

Materials Fee: $50 paid directly to the instructor.

Special Tools or Equipment: No tools are required as all will be provided. Students who have worked in the field before or even tried as a hobbyist may feel free to bring in any tools they wish to use.

You have the option of bringing any small personal item you may wish to replicate, 6”x6” max dimensions and no thicker than 2”.

This workshop is offered in partnership with the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance.

Workshop Policies: Please be sure to read our 2025 policies before you register for a workshop which can be found here Workshop Policies
