You will knit a customized sampler cowl incorporating these techniques with your choice of patterns and colors.
Introduction to 19th Century Tinsmithing

Step into the world of 19th-century craftsmanship with Master Tinsmith Richard Eckert and explore the history and tools of the early American tinsmith shop. Students use period tools and machines to create traditional household items, from cups and sconces to chambersticks and extinguishers, while learning how tinsmiths trained, sourced materials, and brought their wares to market.
Learn To Turn

This course gives turners a strong foundation of techniques for spindle and end-grain turning. Participants will learn the essentials of sharpening by creating their own tools as well as learning proper technique and sharpening on standard tools such as the roughing gouge, spindle gouge, and parting tool.
Three Legged Stool

Learn to create a three-legged stool with stretchers without jigs. This class is designed for beginners and experienced turners and furniture makers. Participants will learn the techniques of spindle turning and replication necessary to create legs and stretchers to create a variety of stool sizes and styles. Using Beth’s easy-angle guide for the drill, students will build stools piece by piece. Seats will be turned or carved, allowing students to create their own personalized design.
