Turn a Three-Legged Stool

Workshop Fee: $900.00

Learn to create a three-legged stool with stretchers without jigs. This class is designed for beginners and experienced turners and furniture makers.  Participants will learn the techniques of spindle turning and replication necessary to create legs and stretchers to create a variety of stool sizes and styles. Using Beth’s easy-angle guide for the drill, students will build stools piece by piece. Seats will be turned or carved, allowing students to create their own personalized design. The focus will be on safety, technique, and design in a fun, supportive atmosphere!

  • Parts and use of the lathe
  • Proper stance and set ups
  • Clean cutting techniques
  • Turned Joinery
  • Use of drill jigs
  • sizing and fitting chair legs and stretchers free form
  • comfort with replicating parts
  • proper wood layout and glue up for seats

 

Materials Fee: $149 paid to SMF at time of check in.
