Wooden Pitchfork
Workshop Fee: $380.00
In this two day workshop, we will start with an Ash log and split, shave, saw, rivet, and bend three-pronged wooden pitchforks from a single piece of wood. These forks will be sturdy enough to use and beautiful enough to display.
The first day will be spent splitting material from the log and rough shaping the entire fork with a drawknife at the shaving horse. Once rough shaped, we will saw the three tinges, and make a simple rivet with a nail where the three tinges meet.
The second day will be spent final shaping and steam bending forks into shape. After bending, we will torch the bent tinges and handle to set the bend, and melt pine resin onto the tinges for durability.
This all hand tool class is a great introduction to green woodworking. It’s a lot of work and a lot of fun. Beginners welcome.
