Make Wood-Fired Pizza

Join Chef Kelly Fahey in a fun culinary experience making wood-fired pizza. During this hands-on workshop, you will learn the art of crafting the perfect wood-fired pizza.  

We will demonstrate how to properly fire up the oven and control the temperature for cooking. We will then prepare sauce & dough from scratch and prep farm-fresh ingredients for our toppings. Everyone will make their own pizza to enjoy as well as 2 wood-fired cooked pizza crusts and toppings to take home. Included in the course is a recipe book with dough, pesto, and sauce recipes.  

You do not have to have a pizza oven at home to take this workshop. Tips for baking pizza in a conventional oven will be discussed. All skill levels in the kitchen will feel at home in this class. Make it a date night or come solo. Anyone who loves pizza is welcome to attend! 

Skills and Techniques: 

  • Discover the secrets to making the perfect pizza dough. 
  • Learn creative and seasonal topping combinations.  
  • Gain insight into wood-fire cooking, temperature control, and how to achieve the perfect char.  

 

Materials Fee: $10 paid directly to the instructor. 

Special Tools or Equipment: SMF will provide tools, if you have a knife set you like to work with feel free to bring it along with you! Students may purchase an optional Sanborn Mills Farm apron for $35 at the start of class.
