Sew a Classic (Fully Lined) Child’s Dress and Coat

Taught by: Joyce LeBlanc

Workshop Fee: $560.00

In this workshop, you will construct a classic child’s dress and coat, both fully lined. The size of the dress and coat is your choice and there are three color options for the coat and dress. All supplies (fabric, interfacing, thread, buttons, piping, sewing machine needles) are provided and will be given to you at the workshop. The color wool and Liberty of London lining will be chosen by each participant with the guidance of the instructor, who will then purchase the material and present it to you at the workshop.

Students are expected to have intermediate to advanced sewing skills.  It is not necessary to know the skills and techniques that will be taught, but the student must have used a sewing machine successfully to construct clothes or home decor items.  This workshop is not for beginners.  If you have any questions as to whether or not you would be a good fit for this workshop, please don’t hesitate to contact marsha@sanbornmills.org  who will put you in contact with the instructor.

In the interest of time, your pattern pieces will be precut for you by the instructor so that you are free to focus on the more advanced aspects of the workshop. Patterns will be given to you to take home. Joyce will work with each student at their own pace to master the techniques used in the garments so that they will go home with a beautiful heirloom dress and coat to be enjoyed for years to come.
