Introduction to Woodworking
Workshop Fee: $350.00
A two-day course that will introduce students to the safe use of standard woodworking machines and hand tools. Students will utilize the chop saw, jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, and router to create a NH-themed serving board they can take home with them.
This is an introductory class designed for the beginning woodworker who wants to learn how to work safely and effectively in the shop.
Please note: Registration for this workshop will close 2 weeks prior to the start date on March 22, 2025.
Skills and Techniques:
- Mill a rough board to finish dimensions using the chop saw, jointer, planer and table saw
- Cut out a rough pattern using the band saw and learn to pattern route it to final shaping using a router table
- Handplane, scrape, and sand your work to prepare for the final finish
- Apply a food-safe finish to your final piece so that it is ready to take home.
Materials Fee: $53.50 for wood, finishing material, and use of router bits. Paid directly to the instructor.
