French Polishing for Woodworking

Workshop Fee: $350.00

A two-day course that will introduce students to the materials and techniques used in French Polishing.  Students will execute the process from material selection and prep to high gloss rubout.  Students will also learn to use shellac in other applications beyond French Polishing.

This class is open to woodworkers of all skill levels.  No prior finishing or French Polishing knowledge is required.  An emphasis will be placed on personal protective equipment and safe practices for materials use and disposal.

Please note: Registration for this workshop will close 2 weeks before the start date on July 5, 2025.

Skills and Techniques:

  • Material Preparation: Planing, Scraping, Sanding
  • Applying Shellac with a pad to create a high-build finish
  • Learn a variety of methods to finish the finish to your desired sheen and consistency

 

Materials Fee: $120 for wood, wood prep, and finishing materials. Paid directly to the instructor.
