Black Ash Kitten Head Basket

Taught by: Alice Ogden

Workshop Fee: $300.00

Students will be working over a wooden mold provided, to weave this 8″ Kitten Head Basket.  Using already prepared black ash splints they will assemble the bottom of the basket using 3/16 ” uprights, the sides of the basket will be woven using the “chase weave ” which will be taught in class. A twill design is woven along the sides to create a subtle design in this heirloom basket. After the basket is woven and dried it will be finished off with hand whittled white oak rims and an overhead handle. The final step of lashing the basket will create the finished product.
