Beginning Hand Spindle

Taught by: Donna Kay

Workshop Fee: $140.00

For thousands of years before the invention of the spinning wheel all fibers for cloth were spun on hand spindles. Still used today, spindle spinning is a fun, inexpensive, portable and low-tech method of creating your own yarns for knitting, crochet or weaving. Spend the day working with wool, learning about the different spindles, spinning and plying yarn. Everything is provided, no experience necessary!

Materials Fee: $12 paid directly to instructor for wool roving, folder and handouts.

Special Tools or Equipment: None
