Join Our CSA — Veggies, Flowers, Bread!

Sanborn Mills Farm’s subscription Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program has slots available for new subscribers. This year’s program comprises three separate CSAs, in fact: our traditional box of Farm-grown vegetables; a Farm-baked bread CSA; and a cut-flowers CSA with blooms from the Farm’s gardens.

To sign up, follow this link to the CSA page on the Farm’s website. Subscriptions are on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you’re interested, don’t delay.

Note: We do not ship our CSA boxes. They are available for local pick-up only at the Farm in Loudon, N.H. See the CSA webpage for pick-up details.

Meet Our Instructors:

Joyce LeBlanc

Joyce LeBlanc recalls that her earliest memories of sewing involve “sitting at my Mom’s side watching her create clothes for my siblings and me.” As a girl she read and studied the pattern instructions so that when her mother finally allowed her to run the sewing machine, “I had already constructed the garment many times over in my head.” She studied at the School of Fashion Design in Boston, focusing on couture detail and pattern making. Her business, JL Designs, was established in 2018 in New Hampshire where Joyce lives with her husband Alan and Siberian Husky Minka.

Joyce’s workshop at Sanborn Mills Farm, Sew Children’s Clothes, scheduled for April 2023, focuses on a classic child’s dress and coat, both fully lined. The size of the dress and coat is the choice of workshop participants, there will be three color options to choose from. “Designing and sewing children’s clothing has always been a favorite for me, believing that you should appeal both to the parent and child,” says Joyce. “Fashion changes, but style endures, and it is my goal to maintain a strong sense of style in my creations, combining classic designs with fresh fabric.”

While it is not necessary to know the skills and techniques that will be taught, participants will be expected to have intermediate sewing skills. (If you have any questions as to whether or not you would be a good fit for this workshop, please contact Sanborn Mills Farm.)
