Beth Ireland is a professional woodworker, artist, and educator whose career bridges fine art and functional craft. She earned her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from the State University College at Buffalo and an MFA in Sculpture from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Since 1983, she has run her own company, Beth Ireland Woodworking, specializing in architectural and artistic woodturning. A three-time Windgate Fellowship recipient, Beth teaches the Professional Woodturning Intensive at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and leads programs at craft schools across the country.
Beth’s work reflects her lifelong dedication to craftsmanship and the meaning we place on the objects we create. She finds inspiration in the meditative rhythm of turning wood and in the stories carried by the things we make — from functional tools to treasured keepsakes. Deeply committed to the act of making, Beth views teaching as an extension of her creative practice, empowering others to connect with craft, creativity, and the enduring beauty of handmade work. She lives and works in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
