Dishtowels: Playing with Blocks
Workshop Fee: $432.00
Dishtowels are a satisfying way of exploring weave structures, because they are quick to set up on the loom and they are a useful size. In this class we will explore different kinds of block threading. Block threadings make it possible larger design elements. Examples include twill blocks, lace weaves and Ms and Os. Color and weave effects can also be used in blocks. We will dress looms with 4-5 warps and students will weave 3-4 towels each on these common warps. We will be using cotton and cottolin yarn in this class.
Sanborn Mills Farm has 5 looms to loan for this workshop. Please email marsha@sanbornmills.org to reserve. After all the looms are reserved, students will need to bring their own looms and warping boards.
Students must be able to warp a loom to take this workshop.
