Fair Isle Fingerless Mitts
Workshop Fee: $144.00
Gloves and mittens are still hand knit in Shetland today. These traditional accessories combine the elements of color and patterning in unique ways. Students will work on a pair of fingerless mitts using their choice of colors of Shetland wool. We will cover tangle-free stranded knitting, techniques for holding yarns in one or both hands, chart reading, thumbs and finishing. You will not be able to knit just one pair!
Basic skills are required, including experience with double-point needles.
Materials Fee: $20 paid directly to the instructor for yarn and pattern.
Special Tools or Equipment to bring: Please bring sets of double-point needles in sizes US #2 & 3. Yarn will be supplied.
Workshop and Cancellation: Please be sure to read our 2026 policies before registering for a workshop https://www.sanbornmills.org/workshop-policies/
