Cyanotype Intensive
Workshop Fee: $720.00
In this 5-day cyanotype intensive course, we will start with a refresher/intro on the basics of how to make cyanotype prints by mixing chemistry, coating paper and/or fabric, and developing the print using the sun. Students will cover how to print using fresh and pressed plants, printing with three-dimensional objects (lace, string, plastic bags, glass jars, jewelry, etc.), printing with paper cutouts, and how to create and print with photographic negatives.
More experimental techniques, including multicolor wet cyanotype and toning with a variety of natural dyes and materials, will be explored. Demonstrations will include altering cyanotypes with paints, collages, toning, and multiple exposures. This medium is infinite in ways to combine techniques during the creation of the print and after it has been printed.
Prior experience with cyanotype is helpful but not necessary. This is an all-levels workshop.
