Introduction to Woodworking
Workshop Fee: $900.00
Learn the fundamentals of modern woodworking by building a contemporary side table during the five day course. Students will learn how to safely use the jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, mortising machine, drill press, router table and more. Hand tool skills learned include the basics of using a hand plane, shoulder plane, chisel, as well as finish preparation and finishing techniques. Students should walk away from the class with a completed table with one coat of finish and the supplies necessary to complete the remaining three coats at home after the class. This class is open to all students regardless of skill or experience. If you have ever had an interest in woodworking this class will give you the skills and experience to safely begin making things on your own.
Students will have the choice of constructing their project in either Walnut or Cherry.

- Common woodworking hand tool use
- Modern construction principles and design concepts
- Finish Preparation and Finishing Techniques
Materials Fee: Walnut Table- $360, Cherry Table $260 paid directly to the instructor.
Special Tools or Equipment to bring: If students have their own handplanes, chisels and cardscrapers they prefer to work with they are welcome to bring them but it’s not expected.
