DESCRIPTION:Botanical Printing and Eco-Dyeing on Paper with Book Binding Basics and the Coptic Stitch\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Anne McMillan \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Saturday\, September 3 – Sunday\, September 4 \n9:00am – 5:00pm \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Workshop Overview:\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				This workshop will cover the basics of Botanical Printing\, or Eco-Dyeing\, and the process to create Books from your dyed papers.  Botanical Printing/Eco-Dyeing is a wonderful way to create plant impressions in both paper and cloth. Students will learn the basic process of harvesting plants from the garden or from  meanderings through the woods and imprinting nature onto paper and cloth.  Learn how to bundle and wrap papers and the possibilities of what can be done with that paper and cloth.  \nThis two-day class will cover foraging for materials and choosing dye plants from the Sanborn Mills dye garden. On the first day\, students will learn how  to transfer the natural images to primary paper and some cotton cloth will also be used.  \nOn the second day\, students will use the dyed papers to create a unique book. The class will spend some time learning basic bookbinding skills and simple structures.
